Registration Night: For anybody interested in becoming a new member in Craobh Chualann there will be a Registration evening in Cultúrlann, 32 Belgrave Square from 8.30pm on Monday coming 11th September. There will be an opportunity to discuss matters with a selection of teachers and committee members.

Fleadh Cheoil Átha Cliath: Commemoration and Celebration
Fleadh Cheoil Átha Cliath is coming to Dalkey 10-15 May 2016. Tuesday, 10 May, the official opening of the Dublin Fleadh Cheoil will be held in the Heritage Centre in Dalkey on the 10 May. Cairde Chualann will perform a newly composed piece of music called “Rithim na Réabhlóide” by Tim Doyle and Sibéal Davitt will perform a sean-nós dance, Thursday, 12 May, we will have an orchestral performance of MARBHNA 1916 by Odhrán Ó Casaide, a requiem that was specially composed for all those who died during the Easter Rising 1916. Admission is free to this event. It will be performed in the Church of the Assumption, Dalkey. This will be an Irish language performance. Friday, 13 May, we will have a traditional concert featuring ‘Réalta’ Chraobh Chualann. This will include the best of singers, grúpaí ceoil, dancers and musicians from the Craobh Chualann branch. Tickets cost €5 for this event. It will be held in Dalkey Castle & Heritage Centre, Castle Street. Saturday, 14 May, we will present a concert by the well known band RÉ. Tickets cost €15. Fleadh Átha Cliath coming to Craobh Chualann Be part of an exciting week of Irish Culture 10th – 15th May 2016 in Dalkey What is Fleadh Átha Cliath 2016? Each year Comhaltas in Dublin organises Fleadh Átha Cliath. In 2016 Craobh Chualann will be hosting the Dublin Fleadh. Central to the Dublin Fleadh are the competitions in different aspects of Irish traditional culture, the competitions cover dance, music, song and language. But there is a lot more to the Fleadh than just the competitions. The Dublin Fleadh will have more than a week of entertainment, covering traditional and contemporary Irish culture, in concerts and sessions in a variety of venues in Dalkey. Members, Following a very successful visit from CCÉ Cavan last year Craobh Chualann members have been invited to join CCE Cavan on a return visit on Sunday March 13th in the rugby club at 5pm. Food and beverages available. It is planned to run a bus down from Monkstown if there is enough interest leaving at 2.30, so I would like to know as soon as possible.
