“Ni fhaca mé a leithéid” said our Chairman. How right he was. Unprecedented numbers of people descended on the Cultúrlann last night to register for classes, which start next week. For most of the evening, the queue was out of the room, up the corridor, out the door and up the steps outside. There was barely room for the younger musicians, including Siobhán Paircéir who had come up from Limerick, to play and create ‘atmosphere’ at the fireplace, such was the press of people. In the end, numbers, rather than the music, had to create its own momentum. Well done to everyone concerned.
