Formal classes in traditional music and arts are organized by the club on Friday evenings.

We currently offer classes in:

  • Banjo/Mandolin;
  • Bodhrán;
  • Concertina;
  • Fiddle;
  • Flute;
  • Tin Whistle;
  • Sean-Nós Dancing;
  • Harp;
  • Uileann Pipes.

Subject to demand, we may also offers classes in Button Accordion, Guitar and Singing.

Classes are open to members and are graded for learners and improvers of all ages. Our teachers have many accolades, titles, recordings and other achievements to their names and each year, they will ensure that not only the tradition we love is passed on but it also goes from strength to strength. All officers of the club and the teachers have been subject to vetting by An Garda Síochána.

Tunes for the classes are drawn from Foinn Seisiúin, books which contain the tunes in both “A, B, C” and staff notation. The books, together with accompanying CD, are available for purchase.

The club runs an Instrument Rental Scheme which allows parents to rent an instrument for a trial period until they are satisfied that their child has taken to it. However, Instruments are limited, members are advised to contact a member of the committee when enrolling.
